Having completed 4 mini essays and done an audio commentary, over the holidays you will need to complete a first full essay.

You will be asked to write the equivalent of 45 minutes writing under pressure- 800-1200 words- and will focus on one of the clips you have looked at to answer the following question:

Discuss the ways in which the extract constructs the representation of [class (Oliver) OR ethnicity (Moses Jones) OR disability & ability (The Silence) OR sexuality (The Line of Beauty)] using the following:

- camera shots, angles, movement and composition
- editing
- sound
- mise en scene

You need to make detailed reference to specific examples from the extract only.

You are expected to watch the clips repeatedly in preparation and should format the essay as follows:

No introduction is necessary. You can simply start the essay with how camera work creates/constructs representation and start the analysis from there.
